Blonde is a hair colour characterized by low levels of the dark pigment eumelanin. The resulting effect of removing this pigment in various degrees will result in a blonde look. This is achieved by bleaching the hair in order to remove as much pigment depending on the degree of blonde that you are looking to achieve. This is done more evenly by foiling. Other variations of colour such as “Ash” or “Grey” and “white” can be achieved by toning or colouring the hair after as much pigment is removed. Toners will allow an even consistent, more graceful masterpiece look. But toners only last about 6 washes. Then it is time to re-tone. Blondes are the costliest when it comes to the maintenance of the end product achieved.
